Cognitive hypnotherapy.

We have times when we daydream or space off in thought about a project. When we are in this hypnotic state, we are more susceptible to positive suggestions. With hypnotherapy we can help you find positive resources to help with trauma processing. Guided Meditation is very close to hypnotherapy. The main difference is with meditation a person is connected to the earth. With hypnosis we are more relaxed. The purpose is to imagine and allow our mind to help us go to a safe happy place when triggered. I also have the client create an imaginary container to put issue in until the session.

The negative put downs and perfect expectations are parents or other people may have had, repeats in our mind. Hypnotherapy and BLS work well to help you process the negative and see the positive.

Somatic therapy

I use somatic techniques to get in touch with implicit memory which is feelings in the body. Any trauma or neglect that occurred when we were younger than 4 is stored in our implicit memory which means we do not have words of thought about it, we have feelings in our body. Parents fighting, mother illness, and sibling abuse are just a few things that can happen when we were a baby or toddler. The sudden squeezy stomach or feeling anxious for no reason can be feeling from the past, triggered or activated in the present.  We can build resources for the implicit memories with somatic movements and memories of happy moment which will create positive thoughts and feeling. I can process preverbal implicit memory with EMDR, somatic. and hypnotherapy. The client creates a new better story of being a baby and feels the connections lost and heals some of the wound creating.

Ego State Therapy

We have thousands of memories from our lives. Didderent memories are connected and when we learn something new it is added to a similar memory. During different ages and situation, we build ego state or our characteristics. perhaps there is a seven-year-old that loves to dance. The tough girl who stands up for herself. The part of you that deals with mom. The part that feels worthless. The part that goes to work. We can process the negative parts to help them join the positive or learning memory instead of being stuck in the negative. For clients who are dissociative or have PTST ego state work is a must with EMDR. I do assessments for dissociation before any EMDR work. Dissociating a little is normal. Dissociation has a wide spectrum and the treatment will vary.

I use techniques from several other therapies if I feel it will work best for the client to enact positive change. I discuss any techniques I use with the client and give choices of the direction of the therapy.
